In Sanskrit, siddha means accomplished or highly skilled and asana means a Pose. Siddhasana is considered to be the best among all asana for meditation. In hatha yoga pradipika, it is said that a practitioner should always practice siddhasana and this pose helps to purify all the 72000 nadis or energy channels in the body, through which prana flows.
