Siddhasana – The Accomplished Pose
Siddhasana – The Accomplished Pose performed by Gaurav Sharma
In Sanskrit, siddha means accomplished or highly skilled and asana means a Pose. Siddhasana is considered to be the best among all asana for meditation. In hatha yoga pradipika, it is said that a practitioner should always practice siddhasana and this pose helps to purify all the 72000 nadis or energy channels in the body, through which prana flows.
Variation of Pigeon Pose /Kapotasana
The benefits of pigeon pose include:
- Stretching the psoas muscle, gluteal muscles , upper chest
- Opening up the shoulder blades
- Relieving stress and tension
- Increases external range of motion of femur in hip socket
- Lengthens hip flexors
- Prepares body for backbends
